‘History’ Exhibition by the students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel
Theodore Roosevelt rightly said,” The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future.” To communicate the truths of history behind the various courses of study, the students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, showcased their exhibits in Languages, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Art and Psychology.
Who doesn’t like fairy tales? Each and every one of us would have heard fairy tales in our childhood either from our parents or from our grandparents. Fairy tales are stories, which may not necessarily be real stories but are very imaginative and informative. Many of these stories have deep morals for the children to learn and inculcate in themselves.
The Festival of Lights, as with most ancient legends, helps us to know the truth of victory of good over evil. It specifically commemorates the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom Ayodhya, at the end of his exile which lasted for 14 years. On Thursday, 27th October 2016, the teachers of Early Years presented a short musical skit on this ancient legend. The skit was followed by a lively interaction.
The Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Navi Mumbai Chapter commenced on 21st October, 2016 at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. As the conference was the 2nd edition of IIMUN in the city, students and teachers were confident that it will be an enriching experience with lots to learn. With intriguing committees like the BCCI, ECOSOC, UNEP and the UN Security Council, there was never a dull moment during the debate session in the following two days.

A Dandiya night was organized on 8th October, 2016 wherein the students, teachers and parents danced their heart out creating a vibrant and exuberant evening.

After being subjugated and suppressed by the British for over 200 years, India gained independence on the 15th of August 1947. This golden day in the political history of India was befittingly commemorated by the staff, students and enthusiastic parents of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel.
On Saturday 6th August 2016, Mahatma Education Society’s, Dr Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, hosted a storytelling session workshop, ‘Stories and More…’, in association with Helen O’ Grady International.
Just as the coronation of a king or queen or of elected leaders of a nation is celebrated with pomp and vigour, the same way an investiture ceremony in school is celebrated with equal importance.
Taking place on 18th July 2016, the investiture ceremony held at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, was hosted by grade nine students, Saurabh Jha and Pranjal Mhatre.
On March 3, 2016 we celebrated the Japanese Doll Festival or Girls’ Day. This is a day to pray for young girl’s growth and happiness. On this day platforms were covered with a red carpet and were used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period.
With a view to encourage, popularize and inculcate scientific temper, the students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, were taken to Science Utsav’s science exhibition at Bhavan’s Nature Park, Andheri on 30th January, 2016. Here, students from various schools showcased their scientific fervor in many ways and related the same with everyday life. There were 45 Students from grade 5 to 8 accompanied by 5 teachers.
The teachers of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel attended Expressions, an International Workshop on Creative and Developmental Dramatics for Teachers and Trainers on 23rd January, 2016. The workshop was organized by Helen O’Grady International and conducted by Markus Schmid, the award winning master of mime from CIE Andrayas, Switzerland.
To commemorate the birthday of the Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan, Mathematics Day was celebrated at Dr. Pillai Global Academy on 22nd December, 2015.
The day started with the school assembly being conducted by Grade 9 students, wherein they paid tribute to the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan by discussing his life, struggles and achievements through a Power Point presentation.
The Early Years section of Dr. Pillai Global Academy celebrated its 4th Annual Day with much vigour and fervour on 19th December, 2015. It was a day of gaiety and auspice for everyone belonging to the DPGA family.
Ati ka bhala na barasna, ati ki bhali na dhoop… Sant Kabirdas had proclaimed many seasons ago!
Pancha Mahabhuta – A dance drama presented by the students from the secondary section of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, sought to reinforce the wisdom of the truism – ‘santulan mein hi jeevan hai’!
The Annual Day at Dr Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel was celebrated on 18th December, 2015 in the school campus. The function commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and a melodious Welcome Song orchestrated and presented by the students and teachers of the school. The students of Grades 1-5 presented a theatrical adaptation of the famous poem, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, by Robert Browning.
The French Assembly for the Literary Festival was held on 10th September in the auditorium. The purpose of the assembly was to throw light on the literary facades of the French language which are in turn influenced by various factors such as culture, people, etc.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy has always been a patron of music. The year 2015-16, witnessed a wonderful celebration of music, from across the globe, on 1st October, 2015, where students brought alive on stage, different forms of vocal and instrumental music.

On 24th September 2015, the DPGA family magnificently embraced the uniqueness of two cultures by celebrating Eid and Ganesh Utsav together.
Hindi Divas Day 2014 was celebrated on 14th September, 2015.
A Proud Moment for Teachers
The teachers of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel would have Friday, 4th September, 2015 etched into their memories.
It is rightly said that “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.
The class of 2015, at DPGA dreamt of seeing themselves adorning their graduation robes, with their diplomas, and this is what exactly happened in the graduation ceremony, held on 15th August 2015. The event was presided over by Dr. (Ms.) Celina Joy, CFO, MES Group of Institutions.
The VHMUN (Vibgyor High Model United Nations) Conference was held at the Hotel Westin in Goregaon, Mumbai from 25th to 27th June, 2015 here at last. The three days were action packed and full of research, writing position papers, referring to study guides and a lot more.
An orientation programme was organized on Saturday, 20th June 2015, for the parents of Early Years. The parents were briefed about the school’s vision, philosophy and general code for the parents.
The 13th June 2015, set the doors open for another new academic year, at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. The orientation programme for parents and students of grades 1 to 12 was held on 13th June, 2015. The event started with a prayer and a dance hailing the almighty, followed by an enthusiastic and a rejuvenating welcome song, composed and presented by the teachers of DPGA.
