It was a proud moment for Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel when it’s Grade 12 student Kabir Bhakta bagged the Silver Medal for Taekwondo Competition in the 63rd National School Games held from 4th – 7th December, 2017.
The games organised at Thyagraj Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, witnessed the clash of master players from all over the country.
Saksham Sanjay Athavale participated in 11th World Taekwondo Culture Expo in which he received the Silver Medal in Poomsae and Kyorugi style held in South Korea on 18th July, 2017.

Every year for 2 weeks, DPGA, Panvel grounds vibrate and pulsate with immense energy during the Annual Football Tournament where there is a fierce competition amongst the students representing the four houses – Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Topaz. The league matches of the football tournament that started on 11th August, 2015 came to a close with a throbbing grand finale on 22nd August 2015.
Like in the past, this year too we had a football match between our Alumni and Current Batch of students on Independence Day. It turned out to be a tough competition. Both teams fought hard to win, blocking the other team from scoring a goal leading to a penalty shoot-out. Neeraj Nair, IBDP2 current batch scored the deciding goal thus winning the trophy for his team.
Ishita Deshmukh: VIIth standard student of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel won the Bronze Medals in 100 meters sprint and long jump respectively at Maharashtra State Athletics Championship held at Pune.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel participated in a sports event organized by The Association of International Schools of India (TAISI) held on 15th, 16th and 17th January, 2015 at MIT, Vishwashanti, Gurukul, Pune. Around seventeen schools participated in the event.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel swimmers participated in the Karnala Sports Festival held on 25th December, 2014 at Karnala sports complex – Panvel.
As an initiative to nurture the spirit of International Mindedness amongst members of DPGA (New Panvel), family, an Inter-house Football Tournament was held with an innovative idea of the four houses representing famous football playing nations of the world.
The Sports day was held on the 13th December, 2014 for Grades 1 – 12. The event was declared open by Ms. Ayonika Paul – International Rifle shooter. The event began with a colorful pom-pom drill by the students of grades 1 and 2. The atmosphere was very exciting with the house members cheering and shouting out slogans to boost the morale of the participants from their houses.
The children of Early Years in an Interschool Sports Meet for the first time participated on Tuesday, 16th December, 2014 at Kandivili. This experience has helped the children to inculcate sporting skill in them.
Kids from Mahatma Sports Club competed and Won Medals at a State Level Gymnastics Development Competition held at Jawahar Vidyabhavan, Chembur on 14th September 2014.
The campus of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel was bustling with energy as numerous sports events were organized for the students in various categories. The students of the four houses, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire and Topaz, gave each other a tough competition.
Ishita Deshmukh (Grade-7) represented Raigad district in the Maharashtra State Junior Athletics Championship held at Pune (Balewadi stadium) on 5th July, 2014. She covered a distance of 4.62m and stood third in the event.
Ishita Deshmukh, a student of grade 6 of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, not only reached the finals of “Speed-star Season 2” but also bagged the second position in the finale by running her best at 13.61 seconds for the 100m sprint, held in Mumbai on the 9th February, 2014. Speed star is an event conducted for the 100 m sprint.
