At DPGA we completely understand the importance of a child’s growth and the sensitive role of parents along with teachers, keeping this in mind DPGA Panvel organized parent orientation programme 2019-20 on 15th June 2019 in the school auditorium.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents by Ms. Padmapriya followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Ms. Shraddha Sardesai, our school principal addressed the gathering. In her speech she focused on nurturing a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for their glorious future. Dr. Latha Venkataraman, our school director enlightened the gathering about the vision and philosophy of the school. She emphasized on the holistic development of children which is the main aim of the school. It was followed by a session taken by Ms.Sarah Kurian, the school psychologist. She guided the parents on physical and mental nutrition. She emphasized on “The Dangers of Distracted Parenting” and also made aware that mental wellbeing is as important as physical wellbeing.
Later, the core team members of Early Years were introduced followed by the subject teachers.The programme concluded with an interactive parent- teacher session in the respective classrooms.
An Orientation Programme 2017 was held on 17th June, 2017.
Early Years Orientation 2015-16
An orientation programme was organized on Saturday, 20th June 2015, for the parents of Early Years. The parents were briefed about the school’s vision, philosophy and general code for the parents.
They are also informed that the Early Years Programme at DPGA is based on the foundation of 4 major Guiding Principles as adapted from “Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework, UK”.
An overview of the curriculum followed in the three sections was also given. This was followed by an active interaction with class teachers in their respective classes.
Early Years Parent Orientation Programme 2014-15
The Early Years Parent Orientation Programme 2014-15 was organized on 21st June, 2014 in the School Auditorium. The programme started with a short prayer and welcome song. It was followed by the Principal’s address wherein she elaborated on the three major aspects of a child’s overall development, i.e. Bahu Balam (Physical Wellbeing), Buddhi Balam (Intellectual Development) and Atma Balam (Strength of Our Consciousness). She then introduced the leadership team and the Early Years’ Team.
The parents were made aware of the six areas of Learning and Development. These areas are equally important and dependent on each other to provide a holistic approach to a child’s all round development.
Multisensory Approach of Learning was also highlighted. This was followed by a glimpse of the child’s day at school. The programme culminated with a teacher-parent interactive session where the teachers gave parents some general instructions and details about the daily routine of the classes. Parents also collected the school diary, books and uniform.
Overall the programme set the tone for a vibrant year ahead, filled with fun and learning.
