Goa Trip 2019

Students of grades 9, 10 and AS level of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, began this exhilarating trip to Goa from November 21 at 9:00 p.m.

Day 1 started with a bang as we all sang and danced while listening to music on high volumes during the bus ride. We visited the renowned churches of Old Goa, the Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is among the most fascinating churches in Goa. Its main attraction is the mummified body of St. Francis Xavier, which housed inside a silver casket. Both these world heritage sites exhibited flawless structural beauty. The day ended by the phenomenal boat cruise at River Mandovi where we all danced our hearts out on a cruise called ‘Jamboree’.

Day 2, with great energy, we began the bus journey for the Naval Aviation Museum. The place displayed many interesting artifacts and machines related to naval aviation. After lunch we left for Fort Aguada. Our timing was perfect upon arriving at the fort as we could witness the stunning sunset at the horizon. It was a majestic sight! Our last destination for the day was The Saturday Night Market (Arpora), which had not been planned in our itinerary nevertheless we had fun shopping, bargaining and of course, eating! Just how the day had started with great energy, the day ended with equal liveliness and spirit as we had a terrific DJ night back at our hotel, followed by dinner.

Day 3, was much lighter compared to the previous two days. At six in the morning, we visited the Candolim beach and we were lucky again to get a glimpse of the gorgeous sunrise. We played beach volleyball and clicked many sun-kissed photos in the scenic white sand. With salty hair and sandy toes, we all strolled back to our hotel and took a lovely dip in the warm pool. We ate breakfast and left for our final destination of the trip, The Sahakari Spice Farm. There, we were served mouth-watering Goan lunch followed by a tour of spice plantations.

We headed to the Madgaon Station and boarded the train back to Mumbai. The 8 hours to Mumbai flew by swiftly as we reminisced about the unforgettable memories made during the trip.
