DPGA > Field Trips > Trip to Manali

Traversing the lofty hills and the splendid valleys of Himachal Pradesh, the students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy travelled to Kullu and Manali for their annual trip in the first week of October.

The trip was organized by Femco Tours Pvt. Ltd. and lasted for seven days. Kullu and Manali are truly a nature lover’s paradise. These places promise an abundance of scenic beauty, temples, monasteries and a lot of adventure activities for visitors.

The beauty, weather, and culture of Manali are totally different and unique from other hill stations. I have travelled to many other hill stations in India with my friends and family, but when I visited Manali for the first time with my friends I realised that Manali is the best out of all the places that I have visited so far. On my visit to Manali I found that Manali hosts a lot of adventure sports like riding the ATV, paragliding and white water rafting in the Beas River at Kullu. Though we had to spend hours in the traffic at times, the wait was worth it. The most exciting activities on the trip were rolling in the zorbing ball at Solang Valley, river rafting, paragliding and the ATV rides! The trek to the Vashisht hot water springs and the visit to the monastery and the Hidamba temple were truly remarkable experiences.

The pleasant weather added to the charm of the trip and enabled us to relish the delicious food arranged during the trip. My friends and I spent an entire week in this beautiful place and we had fun and adventure in the lap of nature. We also went for shopping on the roads of Manali when we got an opportunity to explore the local market. I made new friends and we had our share of playing pranks and enjoying with each other.

All the recreational activities we engaged in these days refreshed us and we now feel much more active than earlier and we have wonderful memories to cherish. One disappointment was that we did not find enough snow on Rohtang Pass as it was not the season, but this gives me a reason to visit this unforgettable place once again, maybe sometime in the winter, and this time to find it dressed in snow.
