On October 22, 2019, IBDP students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel organised the “Halloween fiesta” as a part of their CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) project. Students from grades 6 and above came dressed as their favourite monsters and movie characters.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel organised International Kids Film Festival of India (IKFFI) at our very own school auditorium from 25th to 28th November, 2019.
To brief about it, LXL stands for Learning + Multiplied Learning = Exponential Learning.
Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel organised an inter-school science fest “Global Science Gala” consecutively, for the second year on 6th December, 2019. The Science fest was a vivacious celebration of Science and included a range of competitions like science quiz, project and video-making competitions.
Exuberance and panache is an attitude that has been associated with the Children’s Day celebration that takes place at Dr. Pillai Global Academy every year. This year too was no different. The teachers, in spite of tight schedules and teaching learning commitments, put up a great show.
Youth Conference 2019 – Leadership Series With C.M. Shri. Devendra Fadnavis
Students from Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel participated in Youth Conference 2019 organized by IIMUN [India’s International Movement to United Nations] on 6th September, 2019 at NSCI Dome, Worli. On the occasion, the founder of IIMUN, Mr. Rishabh Shah took to stage to speak on the role that I.I.M.U.N. has played in the lives of youth in India.
A university fair was held at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel on Thursday, 3rd October, 2019 with a view to inform the students about the upcoming courses in different streams at the under graduate and post graduate levels in universities across Europe.
Independence Day was celebrated with great respect at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. The day began with slight showers of rain but fortunately subsided and eventually came to an end right in time. The celebration remained on schedule and commenced at 8:00 a.m. on the school ground with the audience consisting of students, parents, teachers and the supports staff of the school.
15th August, 2018 – A day of bringing alive the glorious achievements of Free India, a day to remember our past leaders and martyrs who willingly undertook sacrifices so that future Indian citizens can breathe the air of Freedom and Prosperity was celebrated with due solemnity and splendor at DPGA play-ground. At sharp 8.00 a.m., the national flag was hoisted by the Head-Girl followed by the national anthem and the Director’s address to the assembly i.e. students, parents and staff.
On the morning of 15th July, 2019 the future entrepreneurs of DPGA gathered in school auditorium for a workshop with Ms. Ann Phua and Dr. Daphne Pillai.

The Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2019 was held on 25th June at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. The function was inaugurated by our Director, Dr. Latha Venkataraman and Principal, Ms. Shraddha Sardesai by lighting the lamp and invoking the blessings of the almighty.

Keeping these objectives in mind, Dr. Pillai Global Academy conducted Entrepreneur Fest 2019 on 28th June, 2019.
An orientation session on Career Counseling was held at DPGA on 29th June, 2019 in collaboration with Univariety, the career counseling partner of Dr. Pillai Global Academy. The session was for all parents of new students from grade 8 onwards and was conducted by career counselor, Mr. Joyce. This orientation programme laid emphasis on the importance of early planning and choosing a career option for students.
Dr.Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel organised an orientation programme for the parents of Grades 1 to 12 on 8th June, 2019 in the School Auditorium. The event started with an enthusiastic and a rejuvenating welcome song, composed and presented by the Performing Arts Department. This was followed by lighting of the lamp, symbolising a fresh dawn that spreads the light of wisdom and warmth in our hearts.
To mark this day, Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel celebrated World Music Day by witnessing a special concert for students and teachers from the music mentors of the Performing Arts Department of the school. The power-packed confluence of Violin mentor Mr. Prasun Lomjail, Guitar maestro Mr. Ajay Nayak and percussion expert Mr. Nihit Kshirsagar took the stage on fire and entertained the music lovers.
The Orientation Programme for the Cambridge AS and A Levels for the Academic Year 2019-2021 was conducted on 30th March, 2019. Ms. Padmapriya S. V., CAIE Exams Officer, welcomed the gathering and enlightened the audience with the importance of the Cambridge AS and A Levels Programme in creating lifelong learners, going beyond the formal education and training.
The Orientation Programme for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for the Academic Year 2019-2021 was conducted on 30th March, 2019. Dr. Mousumee Mishra, IBDP Coordinator, welcomed the gathering and enlightened the audience with the importance of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in creating lifelong learners, going beyond the formal education and training.
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated at DPGA with immense passion and enthusiasm. The patriotic fervour was felt in every nook and corner of the institution. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag and singing of the National Anthem.
In our endeavor to provide the best opportunities of higher education to our students, D.P.G.A., New Panvel, conducted a University Fair on Saturday, 9th February, between 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the school premises. The fair was held with the objective of bringing the students, parents, Universities from India and Abroad, educators and interested members of the community, under one roof.

The Food Carnival 2018 was organised by Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel to give a first hand experience to the students. The students had to put to practical use, all the theoretical knowledge they have gained over the years. By participating in the Food Carnival 2018, they did collaborate all the knowledge learnt and be-came successful entrepreneurs for a day.
Saturday is a day when we yawn, get up late, potter around the house lazily, do things in a slow fashion and then feel bewildered when the day is gone before we even realize it and then wish we had spent it fruitfully.

DPGA commemorated International Day of Yoga on 20th and 21st June 2018, as show of our commitment towards this ancient Indian art of Health and Fitness.
On 20th June, we had our primary graders 4-5 practiced a few of the yoga postures under the expert guidance of Mrs. Rajalaxmi Rao, an experienced yoga instructor. The children very enthusiastically did standing and sitting asanas.

The Mathematics exhibition held on the 70th Independence Day, 15th August 2017, clearly elucidated the words quoted by Bill Gates “We are changing the world with technology.”
Each corner of the exhibition room was a celebration of Mathematics in technology.
It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got her freedom on 15th August, 1947. It took hundreds of years for us to break shackles of slavery. People of the country celebrate this day every year with great pomp and show. This year in 2017, India is celebrating its 71st Independence Day to pay a tribute to all the freedom fighters that had contributed significantly and fought for the Independence of India.
Commerce Department Exhibition conducted on 15th August, 2017.
There is no doubt about the fact that technology has had a major impact on the all economies around the world. The commerce and industries have witnessed a paradigm shift in the way businesses are being run in the twenty – first century.
On the 15th August 2017, an exhibition was held in Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel.
Different exhibits were put up by the different departments in the school.
These included charts, models and project work done by the students from 5th to 12th standards.
It is rightly said “Today’s Science is tomorrow’s technology”. The Science department, at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, worked on these lines to put up an exhibition themed “Technology in Science”, on Tuesday, the 15th August, 2017.
The exhibits spanned all the three branches of Science-i.e, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The theme chosen for this year’s exhibition was “Psychology and Technology”. With the advent of modern sciences such as artificial intelligence, online networking, social media etc, a lot of opportunities are availed with just a click of the mouse. Every theoretical and applied field has undergone a vast transformation in terms of service delivery, speed, preciseness and progress.
Parents’ involvement in a child’s healthy all round development is crucial. To honour them for their love, dedication and sacrifice for their children, on Saturday, 22nd July 2017, the Early Years Section of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, brought in the Parent’s Day with joyous celebrations.
The morning assembly of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel on Wednesday, 21st June, 2017 started with yoga in light of the 3rd International Yoga Day. The day started with warm up exercises followed by asanas, pranayama and meditation. All the students from grade 1 to 12, the principal, staff and sub staff; everyone was a part of the celebration of Yoga Day. It was a beautiful sight to see each and everyone synchronously moving from one yoga posture to other.

Theodore Roosevelt rightly said,” The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future.” To communicate the truths of history behind the various courses of study, the students of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, showcased their exhibits in Languages, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Art and Psychology.
Who doesn’t like fairy tales? Each and every one of us would have heard fairy tales in our childhood either from our parents or from our grandparents. Fairy tales are stories, which may not necessarily be real stories but are very imaginative and informative. Many of these stories have deep morals for the children to learn and inculcate in themselves.
The Festival of Lights, as with most ancient legends, helps us to know the truth of victory of good over evil. It specifically commemorates the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom Ayodhya, at the end of his exile which lasted for 14 years. On Thursday, 27th October 2016, the teachers of Early Years presented a short musical skit on this ancient legend. The skit was followed by a lively interaction.

A Dandiya night was organized on 8th October, 2016 wherein the students, teachers and parents danced their heart out creating a vibrant and exuberant evening.

On Saturday 6th August 2016, Mahatma Education Society’s, Dr Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel, hosted a storytelling session workshop, ‘Stories and More…’, in association with Helen O’ Grady International.
On March 3, 2016 we celebrated the Japanese Doll Festival or Girls’ Day. This is a day to pray for young girl’s growth and happiness. On this day platforms were covered with a red carpet and were used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period.
The teachers of Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel attended Expressions, an International Workshop on Creative and Developmental Dramatics for Teachers and Trainers on 23rd January, 2016. The workshop was organized by Helen O’Grady International and conducted by Markus Schmid, the award winning master of mime from CIE Andrayas, Switzerland.
To commemorate the birthday of the Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan, Mathematics Day was celebrated at Dr. Pillai Global Academy on 22nd December, 2015.
The day started with the school assembly being conducted by Grade 9 students, wherein they paid tribute to the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan by discussing his life, struggles and achievements through a Power Point presentation.
The French Assembly for the Literary Festival was held on 10th September in the auditorium. The purpose of the assembly was to throw light on the literary facades of the French language which are in turn influenced by various factors such as culture, people, etc.

A Proud Moment for Teachers

The VHMUN (Vibgyor High Model United Nations) Conference was held at the Hotel Westin in Goregaon, Mumbai from 25th to 27th June, 2015 here at last. The three days were action packed and full of research, writing position papers, referring to study guides and a lot more.
The 13th June 2015, set the doors open for another new academic year, at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. The orientation programme for parents and students of grades 1 to 12 was held on 13th June, 2015. The event started with a prayer and a dance hailing the almighty, followed by an enthusiastic and a rejuvenating welcome song, composed and presented by the teachers of DPGA.
