A collaborative workshop was conducted by Arts Department on Thursday 7th March 2019 at Dr. Pillai Global Academy, New Panvel. The guest speaker of the workshop was Mr. Nitin Kulkarni, Chairperson, Master of Design, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Mumbai and parent of DP1 student. The workshop was attended by students of Arts across Grades 9 to 11th and faculty members. During the two- hour session, Mr. Nitin spoke about the histories of Art and contemporary practices in Arts. During the programme, he emphasized on the role of perception and Design Thinking. Mr. Kulkarni also laid stress on the importance of emotions and the awareness of one’s own thinking process for an artist. Through different activities, he familiarized the students about concepts of visualization and representation in the field of Art and Design.
